weekly painting pourse for adults in frankfurt nordend

In the painting course, as well as in the drawing course, we work from observation. This means that in the studio there is either a still life set up or a person sitting as a model for portrait work. Sometimes we choose a reproduction of an artist’s work as our subject, in order to discover, understand, and practice the secrets of the master through copying. When the weather allows, we take our easels outside and work in the courtyard in the open air.

Professional materials such as canvases, brushes, and oil, acrylic, and gouache paints are available
for purchase directly at the atelier. During the first session, we are happy to advise you on the
materials you will need. If you already know your preferred tools, feel free to bring your own
equipment.

During intensive weekends, we often focus on the theme “Figure in Space.” Further details can be found in Painting and Drawing Intensive.

individual, personal, in small groups

At McKiev Atelier, we consciously work in small groups of no more than 7 people. This size has
proven ideal for individual guidance while also encouraging learning from one another.
As a trained visual artist with solid expertise, I support you professionally and unobtrusively
whenever you need it. The focus always remains on your individuality, your pace, and the
development of your own artistic language.

brushes and palette knives.
If you wish, you can receive individual feedback directly on your work.
Each session concludes with a group viewing and discussion of the artworks.

drawing course for adults in frankfurt

The drawing course is suitable for all levels: as regular practice to refine eye-hand coordination for
experienced artists, or as a step-by-step introduction for beginners.
We work at easels using graphite pencils of varying hardness, charcoal, chalk, and more on paper.
You are welcome to bring your own materials or purchase them at the atelier. Easels and drawing
boards are provided.

drawing course – techniques & topics

Together, we develop your personal range of drawing materials based on what you use during the
course. We also explore the principles of academic drawing and discover core techniques such as
line, hatching, and tonal areas.
We then move on to composition, perspective, and their application in subjects such as still life,
landscape, portrait, and figure drawing.
The goal is to achieve a clear understanding of three-dimensional form and a confident, fluent
drawing process.
